The next FIVE players Liverpool could sign, following James Milner deal

This was comfortably our biggest hitting piece of the week. Following the signing of James Milner, we attempted to predict the next five players that we’d pick up in the summer transfer window. We ranked them in order of importance – with number one being the man we’re most desperate to see added to our squad.

The potential deals for Danny Ings and Mateo Kovacic, which we tipped to happen back on Wednesday, appear to be edging steadily closer. Although we it got totally wrong with our goalkeeper prediction. We wanted Keylor Navas from Real Madrid, but we should have known that Bolton’s Adam Bogdan was a far more likely candidate.

Report names James Milner’s Liverpool shirt number and wage

This is the sort of information that Liverpool fans crave. Like it or lump it, squad numbers and wages are the sort of things us hardcore supporters love to know. So, with that in mind, it was no real surprise that our report based on claims from the Daily Star quickly produced a lot of interest.

It doesn’t take an expert to realise that Rodgers will still start the season under pressure, so it’s still worth reading up on what else might be available.

Liverpool’s ten best and worst Bosman signings, with Andiy Voronin 8th, as James Milner signs

There were a whole world of follow-up pieces available to us after James Milner signed for Liverpool. Perhaps the most interesting of those was our run down of the Reds’ best and worse free transfer signings over the years.

We quickly realised that we’ve endured something of a mixed record when it’s come to these kind of additions and we’ll all be hoping that the England man can break that trend over the coming months and years.

Liverpool’s last great youth team – where the title winning side of 2008 are now

A lot of Liverpool fans have spoken with excitement about our current crop of academy players. Our American owners have put a lot of time and effort into reinvigorating the youth team and their efforts were rewarded with a second place finish in this year’s reserve league.

However, not since 2008 have the Reds won the junior version of the Premier League – beating Aston Villa in the competition’s final. We took a look at the team that did it!
