It’s probably fair to say that there has been a mixed reaction from the Liverpool supporters to the signing of Adam Bogdan. Most have seen sense and admitted that the addition of the Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper was perhaps more a necessity that it was a luxury, while others have still managed to air their frustrations.

There’s no questioning the fact that we needed a goalkeeper this summer and when you compare the Hungarian to those that have gone before him – Brad Jones, Diego Cavalieri, Charles Itanje etc. – he’s a pretty decent signing.
We’ve never been blessed with many superb second choice goalkeepers – after all, it’s a hard position to fill, what quality keeper will want to come and sit on the bench? But in Bogdan, we’ve got an current international player with Premier League experience, who has been playing regularly and performing well for several years.
Is he going to challenge Mignolet for the starting role? Probably not. But that doesn’t mean he’s not a good addition to our squad. He’s a big improvement on what we did have and that’s good enough for me. Here’s what other Liverpool fans had to say…
Milner, Ings and Bogdan. Well played Brendan.. It’s going well

Bogdan will likely play around 3 games next season so I fail to see how the transfer is even worth moaning about. He’s cost nothing.

Not bad for a no2 keeper that bogdan il take that kidda

Okay, that was an overreaction. Bogdan better than Jones, Milner better than Allen and Ings better than Lambert, Borini and Mario.

Ings, Milner and Bogdan. According to many “all improvements”. But would we have finished higher last season had we had them?

Bogdan’s going to be No 2. He did ok in the FA Cup game. Give him a chance. #LFC

Signing Bogdan doesn’t bother me in itself. What it means in terms of Mignolet staying number one really does though.

Hope Bogdan is good at table tennis or Enrique might get bored.
