Adam Bogdan has written an open letter to the fans of Bolton Wanderers, explaining why it was impossible for him to turn down the opportunity to join Liverpool this summer.

The Hungarian goalkeeper became our third signing of the summer on Friday, following in the footsteps of James Milner and Danny Ings, who will also join up with the rest of the squad at the start of July when their respective contracts expire.
Bogdan, who will serve as understudy to Reds number one Simon Mignolet, played 121 times for Bolton after breaking into the first-team in 2011 and has admitted that it was a difficult decision for him to choose to leave.
In an emotional farewell to the Bolton fans, Bogdan wrote…
“I would like to say thank you to Bolton Wanderers for giving me the opportunity to fulfil my dream and become a professional football player in England.
“It was eight years ago when I first came to the club and I feel Bolton have helped make me the player I am today.
“I have to say a thank you to all of my coaches during my time at the club, as every one of them has contributed something towards my game.
“A huge thank you also goes to the fans. I have fond memories of you all and it makes it really hard to leave the football club.
“However, I have been given a fantastic chance in my life to join Liverpool Football Club and I would like to make the most of this opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my career, but I will never forget the time I have spent at Bolton. I wish everyone associated with the club all the very best.
“Thank you.”
Liverpool fans will be hoping that Bogdan can produce during his time on Merseyside and at least put pressure on Mignolet for his starting spot, something that Brad Jones rarely managed to do during his five years at the club.
