Carlos Tevez offered Premier League return by unknown club

Superb Argentine forward Carlos Tevez, previously of both Manchester clubs, has an offer from an unnamed Premier League outfit, Sky Sports claim.

But sadly, that club is not us, reckons the same report.

Tevez only has one year left on his contract, but Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also very interested in securing his services, the article says.

The 31-year-old has long claimed that he’ll end his career where he started it – at Boca Juniors in Argentina – but his performances for Juventus last term, which saw The Old Lady win Serie A and reach the Champions League final – prove he’s got one big move left in him…

If Tevez really is available, we can’t see for the life of us why we wouldn’t target him. He’s a brilliant striker, and offers the work-rate and feistiness up top that’s been lacking ever since Luis Suarez left.

It’s unlikely he’ll go back to United or City due to the acrimonious circumstances in which he left both sides, while Chelsea already have Diego Costa and are closing on Falcao (via Daily Mail).

This leaves Arsenal as the only other Champions League side – while Tottenham also need a forward…

We’ve so far brought in Danny Ings, but Tevez would be a real statement of intent, even if it’s only for two seasons. Let’s hope the Sky Sports reports are false, and we are after the brilliant forward.
