Luis Alberto’s two-year loan deal cut short

Remember Luis Alberto…?

Well he was shipped out on loan to Malaga last summer on a two year deal, after failing to impress having arrived from Sevilla for £6.8m in 2013, but he’s heading back to Anfield.

The Echo report that the Spanish side have chosen to cut short the 22-year-old playmaker’s temporary deal halfway through, with Alberto having failed to suitably impress. He was given only six La Liga starts, appearing nine times from the bench, scoring twice all season.

As a result, Liverpool now have a decision to make regarding his future. We could keep him at the club despite the fact he’s unlikely to even make our bench, he could be sent on loan to a different side, or we could try our hardest to sell him permanently.

Alberto is talented, but he clearly isn’t going to make it for us in the Premier League. He has neither the physicality, but more worryingly, the hunger.

It’ll be best for the player if he’s transferred permanently to a club where he’s given the minutes which will help him maximise his game time.
