Ex-Liverpool star thrilled about pre-season plans

Former Liverpool ace Harry Kewell has backed us to enjoy a successful pre-season tour in Australia, and is convinced we will get a great reception when we head to the other side of the world.

We are set to fly out to Australia ahead of our clash with Brisbane Suncorp on July 17, and will then play a second friendly in Adelaide a few days later. Kewell is confident we will get a fantastic reaction from the crowd, and believes we are more than capable of packing out the stadiums in his home country.

“I’m sure that they’ll have a great reaction from the fans again,” Kewell said (via LFC.com).

“Because Liverpool is probably the biggest club in the world in my eyes, so they’re always going to fill stadiums out.”

Now 36-years-old, Kewell spent five years at Anfield between 2003 and 2008. He was an exciting player, and was well known for his goalscoring prowess from midfield. He was part of our Champions League winning side of 2005, and played a part in the final against AC Milan – although he suffered an injury in the first half and was replaced.

We have a busy pre-season planned this summer, and hopefully we our trip down under is just one of many successful trips.
