Five potential transfer targets to watch at Copa America – including Brazilian star & Serie A midfielder

The Copa America is now in full swing, and it’s been an exciting – and often surprising – start to the competition. We are reportedly chasing the signatures of a number of the participants, and there are a few that we haven’t been linked with who perhaps we should be.

Here are five stars to keep your eye on in the latter stages of the Copa America competition:

5) Carlos Bacca – Colombia

The Colombian forward certainly knows where the back of the net is, and has been a consistent goalscorer for years. A superb season at Club Brugge earned him a move to Sevilla, and he has steadily improved since his move to La Liga.

He scored 28 goals in all competitions last season, and helped his side into the Champions League with a brace against Dnipro in the Europa League final.

The 28-year-old hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory in the Copa America so far, and was sent off along with Neymar in Colombia’s clash with Brazil.

He is already on our radar however (via the Liverpool Echo), and we should certainly keep our eyes on him.

4) Charles Aranguiz – Chile

The Chilean only moved to Inter Milan last season, but (according to the Daily Mail) he has already begun talking up a dream move to the Premier League (even if it wasn’t Anfield he had in mind).

He has been excellent for the Serie A side, and even better for Chile. Along with Arturo Vidal, he pulls the strings from midfield, and scores and assists with regularity – including a brace against Boliva in their last match.

3) Salomon Rondon – Venezuela

Rondon is another player we have been linked with recently (via the Liverpool Echo), and another real goalscorer. He boasts all the physical qualities to succeed in the Premier League, with strength, aerial ability, and pace just a few of his talents.

He’s still just 25-years-old, and I can’t see him costing nearly as much as some of our other reported targets if we were to try and lure him away from Zenit.

Venezuela aren’t the biggest team in the competition, but Rondon is helping his side make a splash.

2) Jose Giminez – Uruguay

Atletico Madrid are unlikely to want to offload the 20-year-old centre-back, as he is a fantastic prospect for the future. A big enough offer may tempt them into selling however, and he possesses all the qualities that would help him to thrive in the Premier League.

1) Roberto Firmino – Brazil

It may already be too late for us to secure the Brazilian striker’s services, as he has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United (via the Metro). The same report claims we have been chasing his signature too however, and it’s easy to see why.

He has been an absolute revelation for 1899 Hoffenheim, and is understandably catching the eye of some top clubs. With Neymar now banned for the remainder of the tournament (via CNN), Firmino may well get the chance to shine.
