Liverpool will part with these six players claims report, including Manquillo & Borini

We’ve already signed James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan and Joe Gomez, so it’s likely that will be some departures – but we really can’t see all the names mentioned in this report by the Mirror leaving…

They’ve included Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Brad Jones and Iago Aspas in their list, with the quartet having already confirmed exits – but also named six more.

But the other six will need selling, loaning out or have their loans terminated in order for them to leave the club.

We’ve listed the six players, and added our own analysis of whether we should keep or sell.

Javier Manquillo

Manquillo is halfway through his two year loan spell from Atletico Madrid, but this report reckons we might want to cut it short. He started off pretty well, but faded as the season got tougher. He’s young, but with Johnson leaving, we think it’s best for us to keep him in the squad for one more year. If he doesn’t progress, he can head back to Spain next summer.

Luis Alberto

Alberto has spent the last season on loan at Malaga after we signed him from Sevilla in 2013. His complete lack of first-team chances during his debut season meant it was best for him to head out temporarily, but he hasn’t impressed with Malaga at all – struggling to get into their XI. If he can’t get in their side, we don’t need him in ours…

Jose Enrique

Injuries have affected Enrique’s chances of developing into a seriously top level left-back, but when he was fit last season, he certainly didn’t impress. Fans are irritated by his constant antics on social media, when we think he should be knuckling down on the training field instead of gloating about his holidays. We’ve had enough of him.

Sebastian Coates

The report claims that Coates is closing in on a £5m move to Sunderland, having impressed towards the end of his 2014/15 loan spell on Tyneside. With Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Dejan Lovren and now the returning Tiago Ilori ahead of him in the pecking order it’s probably time we parted ways, but we’re sad to see him leave – as when he arrived in 2011 he was one of the most highly rated young centre-backs in world football. Injuries have stunted his progression and we wouldn’t begrudge him making a success of himself at the Stadium of Light.

Mario Balotelli

Brendan Rodgers is adamant that the club should offload the maverick Italian who only bagged one Premier League goal in 2015/16. He’s one of our highest paid players and the manager proved with his refusal to select him in the team that he clearly doesn’t think he suits our style. Like most Liverpool fans, we’d love for him to prove everyone wrong and maximise his talent at Anfield, but if a proper offer comes in – it might be time to cut our losses.

Fabio Borini

If we can get anywhere near the mooted £10m mentioned in the report, we should snap a potential buyer’s hands off. Fiorentina, Lazio and Sunderland are all interested and we should be actively encouraging bids. Borini doesn’t have top quality, despite his work-rate, but he’s never going to score the goals a proper Liverpool striker is expected to.
