Sky Sports confirm: Liverpool have held talks with Firmino, Bacca and one other

Sky Sports is confirming the news today that Liverpool have already held talks this summer with three exciting attackers: Sevilla’s Carlos Bacca, Zenit’s Salomon Rondon and most excitingly Hoffenheim’s Roberto Firmino…

Earlier on this morning Brazilian media outlet Globoesporte announced that we were the favourites for 23-year-old attacking midfielder Firmino’s signature – while two days ago, the Echo claimed that South American strikers Bacca and Rondon were key targets after we decided not to pay Christian Benteke’s £32.5m release clause.

Now Sky Sports have confirmed that the reports are true, and we’re in discussions with all three of the talented attackers.

The news will be music to the ears of many Liverpool fans who were growing increasingly frustrated by our unambitious Bosman transfer targets.

Bacca has won back-to-back Europa Leagues with Sevilla and plundered 28 goals in all competitions last season. Rondon is a rangy, powerful forward who helped Zenit to the Russian title – while Firmino currently starts up top for Brazil – although is more comfortable in attacking midfield where he plays for Hoffenheim.

Let’s hope FSG and Ian Ayre can negotiate at least, but preferably more of these three stars to Anfield. They’ll significantly bolster our offensive options next term.
