The bizarre proof that today is the most boring day on the Liverpool calender

The Liverpool Echo have uncovered a surprising list of facts that prove that June 27 is in fact the dullest day of the club’s calender. Impossibly, no Reds player has ever enjoyed a birthday on this date, while we have never bought or sold a player on this day, or even played a match!

We hope that we have been keeping you at least semi-entertained with our stories throughout the day!

Thankfully, we can probably forgive our great club a day’s rest after a hectic summer thus far. Five new players have already been signed – James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez and Roberto Firmino – while a deal for a sixth, Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne, looks to be just around the corner.

For any history-lovers among you, the Echo tells us that yesterday – June 26 – is slightly more interesting. In 2009 the Reds bought Glen Johnson and in 2000 we sold Stig Inge Bjornebye…

Who says the summer transfer window doesn’t have its dull moments?

Bring back football!
