Another done deal, Reds!
Liverpool have completed the £12.5m capture of Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton, who will replace the outgoing Glen Johnson at right-back.
We’ve been working on the signing all summer, having initially had a £10m offer rejected – but have now got it done – making the English international 24-year-old our sixth summer signing following deals for James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez, Adam Bogdan and Danny Ings.
Most Liverpool fans seem to be pretty adamant we’ve acquired a good defender at a reasonable price, too…

The plan now is Liverpool have their number 2 (Clyne) sorted for the next eight seasons. #lfc (Chris Bascombe)

Clyne’s a good buy 4 Liverpool, but can’t understand why MUFC didn’t go for him. They need a decent RB, as well as a decent LB and 2 x CB. — Andy Smith (@andrewdsmith9) July 1, 2015
Nathaniel Clyne is a hell of a signing to be fair

Liverpool finally got that bulk discount from Southampton. Pretty solid price for Clyne. — O.S. (@OSingh91) July 1, 2015
Excellent signings so far #LFC. Superb to see Clyne deal done. Milner will prove to be shrewd addition to midfield & don’t forget Origi!
