Agent of highly-rated striker admits his client would love Liverpool move

The agent of Lazio forward Keita Balde Diao has told a radio station that his client would jump at the chance to join Liverpool this summer, should the opportunity to make the move ever present itself.

Ulisse Savini, who was talking to Radio Sei and is quoted by the Liverpool Echo, admits that no contact has yet been made between Keita and Liverpool but says that the Lazio man would be open to such a switch.

“I personally spoke to Lazio and they said his sale is not predicted,” he said. “It’s only natural that he isn’t satisfied with the situation, so we are evaluating other options.

“Liverpool have a manager who relishes attacking players like Keita. It is a destination we would like, but we have to verify a series of situations. So far I have not had any direct contact with Liverpool.”

Keita, who started his career with Barcelona before joining the Italian club in 2011, is among the highest rated young strikers on the planet. However, he only started ten games in all competitions last season – scoring four goals – and the 20-year-old could fancy his chances of trying to make the grade elsewhere.

According to reports in Italy, both Real Madrid and Manchester United have expressed an interest in the player in the past, most notably after he scored 47 goals in a single season for the youth side of Spanish club Cornella.

There have been unconfirmed reports that Fabio Borini could be included in part exchange as part of a deal, with Rome-based publication IlTempo talking up the Serie A side’s interest in our under-performing Italian.

We’ll watch this intriguing rumour with interest.
