A Sterling Job in your own downfall

Just when you think things were settling down Raheem Sterling goes and pulls another shocker out the bag. Yet again this ‘promising talent’ is let down by either blind stupidity on his part or nasty tactics drawn by his agent to engineer a move out of Anfield. The thing is, Liverpool Football Club have no issue with Raheem leaving should a club come up with £50 million. We all know he wants out, he has made it publicly clear but so have the club on a fee.

I have to agree with Andy Gray after listening to him on TalkSport. This kid who Liverpool Football Club have introduced, developed and nutured has forgotten the very foundations of which Liverpool and just as importantly Brendan Rodgers sets for all young players, especially Raheem.

He has the ability to be world class but world class he is not at this moment in time. Just cast your mind back a good few years. Raheem Sterling reminds me so much of Nicholas Anelka dirong his time at Arsenal. A brilliant talent but one who’s opinion of himself got in the way of fulfilling his potential and became a journey man. This is the third strike for in my eyes with Raheem. The BBC interview without authorisation, the refusal to go on the up and coming tour and now pulling a ‘sicky’. Let’s not forget the laughing gas and many other misdemeanours.

Now is the time for Liverpool Football Club to stand firm. If Aston Villa can stand firm with Benteke than god damn it so can we. It is ever so tempting to take the best offers but I would still gladly watch Sterling sit uncomfortably in the reserves. It’s unlikely that will happen but it’s time to show who the boss is.

Just look where others you have jumped ship to greener grass. Is Scott Sinclair an International Winger? Is Jack Rodwell an International Midfielder? I could go on….

Raheem. Any relationship you had with Liverpool is gone. You are becoming that greedy money grabbing youngster you claimed not to be. If that isn’t the case why haven’t you formally handed in a transfer request?
