The 18-year-old, who made his Reds debut in 2012 during the League Cup tie with West Brom, has been in fine form for our academy side over the last couple of years.

However, he failed to make an impact during a short-lived loan spell with Wigan Athletic and has so far failed to reassure Liverpool bosses that he’s capable of making the step up to a professional level.

Sinclair, who has caps for England at U16 and U17 level, remains the youngest player to have ever played for Liverpool and still has youth on his side. Of course, no move has yet been confirmed. The tweet might not necessarily refer to a move at all. However, the vast majority of the responses have jumped to the same conclusion and question whether an exit is imminent.

It will be a shame if he does go, considering his still great potential, but only time will tell.
