Former Man United boss could end Fabio Borini’s Liverpool nightmare

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is a transfer target for Real Sociedad. The La Liga side, who are managed by former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes, have entered into talks over a deal for the Italian striker according to reports in Marca.

Moyes has been a firm Liverpool favourite for many a year, having kept our Merseyside rivals anchored solidly in mediocrity and turned United from Premier League champions to a mid-table laughing stock in just 12 months.

However, taking a man that’s scored two league goals in three years off our hands would possibly be his greatest act in the eyes of many a Reds fan.

Borini could conceivably have six players ahead of him in the Liverpool pecking order next season – with Christian Benteke set to join Danny Ings, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli on our growing list of strikers (via BBC Sport).

Hopefully, 24-year-old Borini will become the first of those names chalked off, after scoring three goals in 38 games for the club since joining from Roma in 2012.

He spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Sunderland, with some success, but turned down a permanent move to the Stadium of Light last year (via The Telegraph). And now, with his chances of first-team football now slim to nil, he’ll surely see sense and agree to move on.
