Joe Gomez has been a revelation since signing from Charlton Athletic, and he has looked absolutely phenomenal in pre-season. Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to show just what they think about the versatile defender, and Gomez has received rave reviews.
He looked like a promising young star when we signed him, but many expected him to be farmed straight out on loan. He looks more than capable of slotting straight in at the highest level though, and could prove to be a huge asset this upcoming season.
The 18-year-old was fantastic against Australian opposition Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United, evidenced by the reactions on Twitter – with some arguably going a little over the top.

We have made a number of excellent signings already this summer, but Gomez could prove the best value for money. We signed him for just £3.5m (via the BBC) and the potential he has is unreal. He may not initially hit the heights of the likes of Roberto Firmino, but he also cost us a fraction of the price.
