Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent likely to make Championship loan move

MK Dons and Huddersfield Town are battling it out for the right to take Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent on a season-long loan deal, according to reports in the Liverpool Echo – who cite the Daily Mirror.

The 18-year-old was included on our pre-season tour of the Far East and enjoyed a brief run-out during the 2-1 win over Brisbane Roar. However, with further first-team opportunities likely to be at a premium this summer, the youngster will be sent elsewhere to gain some valuable experience.

Kent, who is capable of playing on either flank of just behind a central striker, was particularly impressive for our Under-21 side last summer. He scored six goals in 14 games last season and might have had more if it were not for an unfortunately injury that disrupted his campaign.

Huddersfield and the newly promoted Dons will both be looking to stay clear of the relegation scrap in England’s second tier next season, with competitive games at such a high level likely to be the next step in Kent’s development.

Jordon Ibe and Sheyi Ojo have both enjoyed successful spells in the division in the past, so let’s hope that Ryan can follow in their footsteps next season.
