Liverpool facing competition for rumoured targets Lucas Digne and Adama Traore

The Reds’ summer business was widely thought to be at an end following the signing of Christian Benteke from Aston Villa at the end of last month, but the transfer window still has a further four-and-a-half weeks to run.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with both Lucas Digne and Adama Traore in recent weeks, with a lack of natural width seemingly the only remaining concern for our transfer committee ahead of the new season.

With Jon Flanagan injured, Andre Wisdom sent out on loan and Jose Enrique banished from the first-team (via The Guardian), Paris Saint Germain left-back Digne has become a progressively more appealing option. However, the French international is now thought to be close to a move to Roma (via the Liverpool Echo).

Digne is a full French international but has been struggling to get regular games since moving from Lille a couple of years ago. The Ligue 1 champions have a lot of talent at their disposal and the 22-year-old could be an appealing option for us should we manage to snare his signature.

The Echo also state that Southampton could rival us for Barcelona winger Traore. With Jordon Ibe currently the only natural winger in our first-team squad, it’s been suggested that the teenager’s pace and natural flair could make him an appealing option for the bosses at Anfield.

Traore, 19, has only played four times for Barca’s first-team but has massively impressed for the club’s second string and was one of the few shining lights as they were ultimately relegated from the Spanish second division last year.

Would you like to see either of these players arrive on Merseyside before the start of the new season? Let us know.
