Fabio Borini reportedly in talks with Fiorentina over permanent move

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is reportedly in talks over a move to Fiorentina, according to reports from talkSPORT.

Don’t hold your breath though, we’ve heard time and time again this summer that the Italian is likely to be on his way out of Anfield, but so far nothing has come of rumours such as this one.

La Viola were at least in England on Wednesday for a friendly against Chelsea – a game which they won 1-0 – and the report suggests that they used the opportunity to send representatives up to Merseyside.

It’s well known that Borini is surplus to requirements at Anfield, where he has scored just three goals and made 38 appearances in three years, but the Reds have so far struggled to find a buyer.

The 24-year-old was left out of our entire pre-season campaign and was reportedly told to train away from the first-team, along with Mario Balotelli and Jose Enrique (via The Guardian).

Borini turned down the opportunity to join Sunderland and QPR last summer, when both clubs tabled bids in excess of £10m (via Daily Mail), but talkSPORT doesn’t believe that Fiorentina’s offer – if it exists – will be anywhere near that figure.
