Who remembers Martin Hansen? We wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t. The 25-year-old goalkeeper, who was on Liverpool’s books between 2006 and 2012, failed to make a single first-team appearance during his time with us. However, he still learned enough during his time on Merseyside to be capable of a moment of magic.

Hansen (pictured above in his Liverpool days), who now plays for Dutch club ADO Den Haag, scored a stoppage time equaliser on Tuesday night as his team drew 2-2 with defending champions PSV Eindhoven.

And what a goal it was! The keeper, sent up from the back for a free-kick to try and cause a distraction, produced a backheel volley of the highest quality to send the ball flying past his opposite number, Jeroen Zoet, and into the net.

It was a goal reminiscent of that scored by Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Paris Saint Germian a couple of years ago and a strike that any world class striker would be proud of. Everyone’s entitled to score a fluke goal at some stage of their career, but what a strike this was, and what a moment to do it.
