Mamadou Sakho has been offered a new five year extension to his contract, on terms worth £100k-per-week, much to the surprise of Liverpool fans everywhere.
This is because of the rumours of his potential exit and unhappiness, due to Brendan Rodgers not selecting him, even on the bench, for the first two games of the campaign.
But the contract offer is a clear indication that the club and management want Sakho to stay, and fans are largely delighted with the news.

Why Rodgers is right to leave Sakho out, but wrong again in his execution
Leaving Sakho out of squads that include Lovren and Toure while offering him a long-term contract isn’t a mixed signal, it’s a cry for help.

Two years left on Sakho’s contract but they want to offer him a new 5 year one and pay him 100k a week. They must rate him!

Sakho offered 5 year contract. Hopefully he also gets assurances he’ll get his place back.

I hope Liverpool have offered Sakho more playing time in that new five year contract, or else there’s no way he’s signing it.

I really pity Sakho. Played an amazing pre-season only to have to “regain trust”, then been offered a 5-year contract w/o guaranteed mins.
