AC Milan release strict Mario Balotelli rules, including haircut & smoking bans

AC Milan are believed to be taking steps to ensure the good behaviour of striker Mario Balotelli, who is on the verge of rejoining the club on loan from Liverpool after a disappointing season at Anfield (via BBC Sport).

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, this includes writing a set of rules just for him, which will – they hope – protect them against any wrongdoing on the part of the troubling 25-year-old striker.

The list includes restrictions on his usage of social media, his extravagant hairstyles, his clothing choices, his smoking habit, his time-keeping and his enjoyment of nightclubs – which he is no long permitted to visit.

Balotelli will be hoping that his performances at the San Siro will be enough to force him back into the Italian national team ahead of Euro 2016. He hasn’t played for the Azzuri since last summer’s World Cup and will likely have to recreate the early form he showed during his last spell in Italy if he’s to make it to France.

The former Inter Milan and Manchester City man scored 12 goals in 13 games during his first six months at AC and scored another 18 the following season before joining Liverpool.

Sadly, it seems to be a slippery slope for a talented player who simply refuses to live up to his potential, and this feels very much like the last chance saloon. All we can say is… good luck with that Milan.
