Fabio Borini expected to make Inter Milan switch before transfer deadline day

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is on the verge of joining Inter Milan, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The Mail state that the Italian giants have made a fresh enquiry over our 24-year-old striker and are preparing to submit an official £6m bid, which they believe will be enough to finally pry him away from Anfield.

Milan boss Roberto Mancini believes that Borini can revive his ailing career at the San Siro, with the player having scored just three times in three years for us – although he did bag ten times during a year on loan at Sunderland.

Borini was Brendan Rodgers’ first signing after taking over as Liverpool boss in 2012 but has endured a hugely frustrating spell on Merseyside which has predominately seen him left among the substitutes.

The Reds will likely be all too ready to sell, with Borini yet to feature for us this season and clearly surplus to requirements following the summer arrivals of Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Divock Origi, who is back with us after a year on loan at Lille.

Time is running out for someone to get a deal over the line, but it looks as if Inter are by far the most likely.
