Mamadou Sakho is set to start for Liverpool versus Bordeaux

It’s the news Liverpool fans have been waiting to hear since the first day of the season…

Mamadou Sakho is being recalled to the starting lineup for tomorrow evening’s Europa League clash with Bordeaux, claims the Echo.

The Frenchman, rated by many Reds as the best central defender in our squad, has not played a minute of competitive football yet this season – sat on the bench behind Martin Skrtel and the consistently dodgy Dejan Lovren – much to the dismay of supporters everywhere.

But in his homeland on Thursday, the 25-year-old is heavily expected to start our opening match of the Europa League group stages – although there’s no word yet as to whether this will be alongside Kolo Toure, or one of the aforementioned regular starters.

If Sakho shines, it will be difficult to leave him out of the weekend side to face Norwich, considering Skrtel and Lovren have seen six goals conceded past them in the last two Premier League outings.

We really hope Sakho takes his chance and proves to Brendan Rodgers what the supporters already know.
