The five youngsters travelling with Liverpool to Bordeaux

Liverpool are set to name an experimental side against Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday evening, with Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne, Lucas, James Milner and Christian Benteke all left out of the travelling squad, reports the Echo.

And five youngsters are making the trip in their place…

Dan Cleary

The 19-year-old Irishman travelled with the Reds on pre-season, and is now getting a chance with the first-team squad. He’s naturally a centre-back but can play at right-back, and it’s likely he’ll be the backup to this position with Clyne left at home.

Jordan Rossiter

The most likely of the academy players to start due to the absence of Lucas, James Milner, Joe Allen and Jordan Henderson in central midfield. The Scouse teenager is feisty and combative, and could play at the base of a midfield three.

Pedro Chirivella

The Spaniard plays in the same position as Rossiter, but is technically smoother and more renowned as a deep-lying playmaker. He has a small chance of starting in central midfield, but it’s more likely to be his slightly more experienced English counterpart.

Ryan Fulton

The keeper could sit on the bench while Adam Bogdan starts, but as Simon Mignolet is travelling, it’s more than likely going to be our Belgian no.1 playing backup to the Hungarian.

Cameron Brannagan

A substitute on a few occasions already, Brannagan can play in any of the attacking midfield positions, but is yet to make his full debut. With Adam Lallana, Coutinho, Jordon Ibe and Roberto Firmino all travelling, he’s perhaps unlikely to do so tomorrow either.
