Liverpool vehemently deny approaching Carlo Ancelotii

Despite reports claiming the contrary, Liverpool have not approached legendary Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti.

James Pearce of the Echo and Tony Barret of the Times have claimed that the story in the Daily Mail, has been immediately denied by the club.

They both tweeted us such earlier this morning.

Pressure has been growing on Brendan Rodgers among an increasingly agitated fanbase, but there seems no evidence to suggest FSG are actively seeking his replacement despite the ongoing rumour mill.

Just a week back, Paul Joyce at the Express confirmed that FSG still back the manager and our American owners ‘anticipated a slow start’.

Interestingly though, the club hasn’t denied approaches for Jurgen Klopp, with journalist Raphael Honigstein confirming that we HAVE been in contact with the German (via Metro).

In that respect perhaps our silence regarding the Klopp stories is deafening.

What is certain is this – Rodgers needs his Liverpool side to beat Carlisle tonight – and beat them well, or he’ll likely lose the supporters he still has.
