FSG has been a big gamble that hasn’t paid off
Next month marks the five year anniversary of when FSG took over Liverpool FC. We all remember how the whole thing unfolded and how excited we were about getting rid of Hicks and Gillett.
So what has happened in the last five years? We have seen system upon system being changed. The club signed many players with potential but really the only one that has totally worked out so far has been Philippe Coutinho. Then there is the story of the manager, they fired Roy Hodgson and brought Kenny Dalglish back. Kenny started off well however they fired him the following season (after winning the Carling Cup) and then hired Brendan Rodgers.
And that Carling Cup (won under Dalglish) has so far been the only trophy that FSG has brought home despite spending millions on players with potential. If they had gambled that money at casino.netbet.co.uk I bet they would have had a better return.
Of course many Liverpool fans are irate about FSG’s inconsistent dealings, they fired Kenny Dalglish after a season and a half because he didn’t qualify for the Champions League despite winning the Carling Cup. However with Brendan they seem to handle him differently, Liverpool had a disastrous season yet they fire his assistants instead. FSG are playing poker with our beloved club.
Don’t get me wrong, not everything FSG have done has been bad. They surely get A+ in their commercial handlings and an A+ on getting top money, selling Torres, Suarez and Sterling for records.
The verdict is that FSG have been very successful on the commercial side of thing however on the footballing side (our bread and butter) they have been a miserable failure.
