Predicted Liverpool XI v FC Sion, with Rodgers set to ring changes

Here’s a much changed side we think Brendan Rodgers could deploy against FC Sion in the Europa League this evening…

GK) Adam Bogdan

Bogdan’s played just once so far, and although Rodgers actually went with Simon Mignolet in the first Europa League tie, we think he’ll select the Hungarian after his League Cup penalty heroics. He’s unlikely to let us down.

DLC) Joe Gomez

Gomez fits in as the right central defender perfectly. He’s lost his place in the Premier League XI, so he’s a certainty to start – having sat next to Rodgers in the pre-match press conference as well.

DC) Kolo Toure

Fit again, Toure should slot into the middle of defence, enabling Martin Skrtel a well earned rest.

DRC) Emre Can

Likely to continue in the back three, giving Mamadou Sakho a break for the weekend.

WBL) Jordon Ibe

Ibe gets another chance to impress and show why he should be a starter, as he was at the beginning of the season. It’s not quite happening for him yet, but on the back of the win against Villa, Anfield will be loud and urging him on. He might be disappointed if he is used on the left, however.

WBR) Nathaniel Clyne

Clyne slots in perfectly at right wing-back, and will likely get plenty of opportunities to get forward.

MC) Jordan Rossiter

Rodgers said the youngster will start, so expect to see him once again. He did well last time out in France versus Bordeaux.

MC) Joe Allen

Allen played versus Carlisle but not against Villa, meaning he’s one of those players who can expect starts in the League Cup and Europa League

AMC) Adam Lallana

Lallana scored a wonderful goal against Bordeaux, and we’d love to see him replicate it v FC Sion, who are weaker on paper.

FC) Danny Ings

He should start at the weekend as well, but with Sturridge guaranteed a rest and Benteke and Firmino injured – Rodgers may continue to hone his skills.

FC) Divock Origi

With Ings and Sturridge set to start up top in the Merseyside derby, the young Belgian can expect another chance centrally. We hope he takes it.
