The Merseyside derby ended in a 1-1 draw today, which was probably a fair result all things considered.
Fans agreed on Twitter, while many saluted Mamadou Sakho’s passion and performance – especially after he went toe to toe with Lukaku late on!
The result leaves us tenth, which has done nothing to alleviate the pressure on Brendan Rodgers, based on the reaction of the online fanbase…

TBF Brendan isn’t a bad person. Gave me one of the best seasons I’ve witnessed as an #LFC fan. I wish him well in the future. Cheers. #LFC — Graeme Kelly (@GraemeKelly1) October 4, 2015
The Sakho love-in just went overload. Quality, leader, passionate. We’re so god damn lucky to have him. #LFC

No creativity from midfield. When Coutinho isn’t on top form we don’t look like a threat from midfield. #LFC — Dave O’Connell (@DaveOCKOP) October 4, 2015
Thought the result was about right today, plenty of commitment but both sides lacking in quality #LFC #EFC

A point at Goodison not the worst – with their back 4 though you would have hoped for more perhaps. #LFC attacking 2nd half was a non event — Anfield Talk (@Anfield_Talk) October 4, 2015
We looked awesome for the first 25 or 30 minutes. After that…blah. #LFC
