Liverpool on verge of appointing Jurgen Klopp [BBC Sport]

It’s really happening, Reds.

Liverpool are closing in on arguably the most exciting managerial appointment since Rafa Benitez in 2004.

Jurgen Klopp is set to sign a three-year contract with the club, so say the BBC, and it could be announced in as little as 48 hours.

Negotiations have gone smoothly, with Liverpool allowing Klopp to bring his former coaching staff from Borussia Dortmund, Zeljko Buvac (known as ‘The Brain’ for his tactical acumen) and Peter Krawietz to the club as well.

Naturally, Liverpool have agreed, meaning the futures of Gary McAllister and Sean O’Driscoll are now up in the air.

Klopp will have a week to work the players currently not on international duty ahead of next weekend’s Premier League clash with Tottenham.

Having won two Bundesliga titles and a plethora of fans due to his exciting football, charisma and likability – Liverpool fans everywhere are saluting the club for the move.

Let’s hope it gets tied up quick, and we can look to the future under the 48-year-old German.
