Four Liverpool coaches set for sack as Klopp jets into Merseyside

Jurgen Klopp is flying into Merseyside today to thrash out the details of a suspected three year deal to take over as Liverpool manager, BBC Sport claim.

The 48-year-old Bundesliga winning boss is replacing Brendan Rodgers, was fired last Sunday after three and a bit years in charge.

£291m was spent, no trophies were won and a fan group had grown tired of indirection and wasted transfer fees.

This summer gone, Gary McAllister and Sean O’Driscoll were brought in to try and help Rodgers fix Liverpool’s problems – but it appears that they too will now lose their jobs.

Along with Chris Davies, head of opposition analysis, and head of performance Glen Driscoll, the pair have been asked to make way for Klopp’s assistants Peter Krawietz and Zeljko Buvac, who worked with Klopp for the duration of his stint at Dortmund.

This news contradicts that in German publication Bild which suggested that FSG had told Klopp he’d work with the coaching staff already at the club.

We didn’t think this made any sense whatsoever, and thankfully it seems like this story was misinformed.

The Echo claim Pep Ljinders will be kept on, but in a different role, while McAllister maybe offered a job with the academy.
