Is Jamie Carragher winding us up here, or is he an outside bet to join Jurgen Klopp’s backroom staff?!
Like all of us, Carragher watched Klopp’s first interview this morning and immediately fell in love with the German.
So much so, he posted this tweet straight afterwards:
Great appointment from Lfc in getting Jurgen Klopp to Anfield. Can’t wait to start working with him.

In typical Carragher style, it’s sent Liverpool fans into overdrive – but it turned out he was just on the wind up – and simply meant he’ll work with Klopp through the media in his role as a pundit for Sky Sports!
MNF of course! He looks the type who will come live into the studio!! https://t.co/UYoNiOmoXP

Saying that, Klopp iterated in his interview the need for a stable defence, something which in the future perhaps our former no.23 could help out with.
“The first thing, always, maybe in life, you need to have a stable defence,” Klopp said, published by the official website.
“That’s the first thing, always. Because you can only stay confident in a game when you know not each offensive move of the other team is a goal. That’s the first thing and when you start a development nobody starts a development from the top of the table, only a few teams. You always have a little bit lower position and our position is absolutely OK, so we can start our development today, tomorrow, when the players are back.”
