Djibril Cisse, our former striker and once our most expensive ever player, has been held by police along with three other men over the alleged sex tape extortion of Mathieu Valbuena, reports BBC Sport.
The BBC choose not to name Valbuena, but the Telegraph, along with every other major news outlet has done – indicating that Cisse has been part of a plan to blackmail his former team-mate for money!
There’s no confirmation that the sex-tape of 31-year-old Valbuena exists, but our ex-£14.5m forward, once a fans’ favourite due to his overcoming of serious leg-breaks, is in custody.
The pair played together for Marseille and the French national side, although 34-year-old Cisse has since dropped down football’s pecking order and actually signed for a tiny club in the Réunion Premier League in the summer. That didn’t last long though, and he’s pencilled in for France’s version of Strictly Come Dancing over the winter.
Whether he’ll still be able to compete with these allegations public is yet to be seen!
