Liverpool appoint Rogers as coach! (Scott Rogers, Liverpool Ladies)

No Reds, the past fortnight hasn’t been a dream. Brendan Rodgers really was fired following the Merseyside derby, and Jurgen Klopp really did take his place five days later.

But after seeing the BBC report this morning that ‘Rogers had joined Liverpool’, we did a quite alarming double-take. Firstly because the country’s biggest news outlet couldn’t spell Brendan’s name properly, and secondly because it looked like were bringing him back to Anfield!

But fear not, Kloppites – it’s Scott Rogers – and he’s taking over from Matt Beard as the full-time Liverpool Ladies boss.

Rogers is only 29-years-old and worked as Beard’s assistant before the former boss, who won titles in 2013 and 2014 and left for America at the start of this season.

“I am absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to manage Liverpool Ladies,” said Rogers.

“Having worked under the stewardship of Matt for the past three seasons, I know what a great club this is and cannot wait to get started.”

We wish him all the best.
