Predicted Liverpool XI v Bournemouth: Klopp to bring Jordon Ibe and Joe Allen in

Jurgen Klopp has said he’ll make changes for the League Cup tie (via the Mirror), but due to the injury crisis, there’s only so many changes the manager can realistically make.

Bearing that in mind, here’s who we reckon he’ll plump for.

GK) Simon Mignolet

Goalkeepers don’t need to be rested, and we think Adam Bogdan will remain on the bench so that Klopp can continue to hone members of his first-choice XI.

DR) Connor Randall

Nathaniel Clyne’s played every minute of every Premier League game so far, and surely a rest would do him good before Chelsea at the weekend. Randall, the 20-year-old right-back, is untried – but if he can’t handle a home tie versus Bournemouth, he wouldn’t have been on Jurgen Klopp’s benches so far.

DC) Mamadou Sakho

Sakho could skipper the side in James Milner’s absence through injury, which is nothing less than he deserves.

DC) Kolo Toure

We’re going with Kolo purely because Klopp’s said he’ll rest some players, and we’re struggling to pick a different side from the one that faced Southampton!

DL) Alberto Moreno

We’d personally play Jose Enrique just to give Moreno a breather, but he hasn’t made the bench under the German, suggesting that he’s not considered an option.

DMC) Lucas

With Jordan Rossiter still injured, we think Lucas – the best tackler in Europe – will continue in the anchorman role.

MC) Joe Allen

Needs a game, and in James Milner’s absence through suspension, he’ll get one.

MC) Emre Can

Jordan Henderson’s out for the forseable, meaning Emre Can will likely continue in the box-to-box role.

AMRC) Jordon Ibe

Surely a guaranteed starter. Ibe hasn’t produced the goods this year after an excellent pre-season, and he needs to start showing us his ability more regularly.

AMLC) Roberto Firmino

We expect the Brazilian to make his first start since he picked up an injury versus Norwich in September. This will allow Coutinho a rest, with our primary South American badly out of form and looking jaded.

FC) Divock Origi

Last night news broke that Christian Benteke was injured, unbelievably, which will force Klopp to play Origi up front again. The £32.5m Belgian is out of action due to damaging his medial ligament in training.
