Why Jurgen Klopp wrote T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E on Melwood whiteboard when he arrived at Liverpool

Don’t worry, Reds – this wasn’t another ‘Three names in the envelope‘ trick…

According to James Pearce of the Echo, during the first meeting Jurgen Klopp held with his new players, he wrote TERRIBLE on a Melwood training whiteboard – but not in reference to his injury crisis, Liverpool’s performances or the quality of the players at his disposal.

But because that’s how the opposition would feel after playing 90 minutes against his sides. Liverpool would run, work, fight and battle so hard that whoever we’re up against would wish it was over, according to the German who replaced Brendan Rodgers.

The programme Being Liverpool was ultimately incredibly damaging for Klopp’s predecessor and the club in general, but we can’t pretend we wouldn’t be fascinated to watch the 48-year-old in his new surroundings, trying to get the best of his inherited squad…

We haven’t lost a match under Klopp yet, but we haven’t won either. The League Cup tie with Bournemouth tonight provides the perfect opportunity to get Klopp his first victory. The Cherries are in horrible Premier League form and it’s up to us to make them feel as bad tonight as Klopp promised upon his landing.
