Liverpool predicted XI for Europa League tie – Klopp to pick strong side v Rubin

GK) Simon Mignolet

Klopp picked a full strength side against Rubin last time, and we think he’ll almost do so again – bar a few changes based on the impressive performances of the substitutes in the Chelsea win.

DR) Nathaniel Clyne

Excellent versus Chelsea, Clyne (as we keep saying every time we do a predicted XI) is the only real option at right-back, with Connor Randall not yet ready – as he proved in the League Cup against Bournemouth.

DL) Alberto Moreno

The Spaniard will be keen to make up for his defensive error from the weekend, and recapture the form that’s seen him so heavily praised since Klopp arrived.

DC) Martin Skrtel

Dejan Lovren will feel disappointed to miss out, but we think Klopp will go with our now standard back four. Skrtel was outstanding against Diego Costa and we need him to maintain that level.

DC) Mamadou Sakho

Our best defender by a long shot, Sakho simply needs to continue doing what he’s been doing all season.

MC) Lucas

We reckon Emre Can might get a rest in midfield, allowing Joe Allen a route back into the XI. Lucas should keep his spot, with Jordan Rossiter still out.

MC) Joe Allen

The Welshman will look to impress Klopp in his continued fight for a Premier League starting spot.

AMR) James Milner

Poor at Chelsea, Milner was subbed early and will need to impress in the knowledge that Jordan Henderson is on the road to recovery.

AMC) Coutinho

Roberto Firmino has played the past two games so could get a rest, while Adam Lallana could similarly be kept fresh for Crystal Palace. It’s either the Englishman or Coutinho for the no.10 spot, with Joao Teixeira annoyingly not eligible for Europe.

AML) Jordon Ibe

Ibe looks rejuvenated under Klopp, and we expect him to get the nod on the wing after an exciting 20 minutes at Stamford Bridge.

FC) Christian Benteke

With Divock Origi ditched from the squad altogether to face Chelsea, we think the powerful Belgian will finally get a start up top. His cameo last weekend was superb.
