The Germany squad has been evacuated from their hotel ahead of the international friendly with France, due to a bomb scare in Paris.

Emre Can has been called up by Joachim Loew for the upcoming fixtures versus France and bitter rivals Holland, so would have been one of the players involved in the hotel clearing.
“There was a threat and the hotel has been evacuated and cordoned off,” general manager Oliver Bierhoff told Germany’s Express newspaper, cited in the Echo.
Hendrik Grosse Lefert, head of the German football federation (DFB) security team claimed the police were dealing with the matter and as of yet they didn’t know when the squad could return.
“The French police have informed us that an anonymous bomb threat had been made,” he said.
“Together with our colleagues, we decided to evacuate the hotel to enable them to go through and examine the rooms and conference rooms thoroughly.”
In this day and age, the news is pretty worrying, but we’re glad nobody’s been hurt and the police are dealing with it.
Can’s won two caps for Germany so far, starting at right-back against Scotland at Hampden Park and Poland in Frankfurt.
It’s interesting that a coach of Loew’s standing has chosen to deploy the 21-year-old at right-back, considering the stick Brendan Rodgers got for doing the same.
Under Jurgen Klopp though, Can’s been used as a central midfielder, and he’ll hope for an appearance in his favoured position for the World Cup winners tonight.
