Coutinho injury update – unlikely to feature against Bordeaux

Philippe Coutinho’s hamstring injury from the brilliant weekend victory will likely keep him out of Thursday’s match against Bordeaux, but thankfully – he could be ready for the crunch Premier League tie against Swansea, according to a report in the Echo.

Our magical number ten limped off in some discomfort midway through the second half during the weekend demolition of Manchester City.

James Pearce writes that the medical team had hoped the pain would go away after a day of rest, but the Brazilian was still in some discomfort on Monday evening, so the decision was made to send him for a scan.

The report claims the 23-year-old is certain to miss our game against Bordeaux, but there is an outside chance that’ll he’ll be fit for the visit of Swansea on Sunday afternoon.

In the worst case, he’ll return against for our trip to the north-east to play Newcastle the following weekend.
