Predicted Liverpool XI v Swansea – Allen replaced suspended Lucas

Here’s the side we expect Jurgen Klopp to select to face Swansea at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

GK) Simon Mignolet

Will be desperate to banish the Bordeaux blunder from memory.

DR) Nathaniel Clyne

Barring injury, Clyne’s 100% guaranteed to start at right-back.

DL) Alberto Moreno

Defensively suspect in the Europa League, Moreno will know a Premier League outfit will be less forgiving if he makes the same passing errors.

DC) Martin Skrtel

Should come into the side to replace Kolo Toure, despite missing out midweek with an illness.

DC) Dejan Lovren

Mamadou Sakho is out until Christmas, meaning Lovren will continue at the heart of defence.

DMC) Joe Allen

With Lucas suspended, Allen starts in holding midfield. He was excellent in the Europa League and deserves his Premier League opportunity.

MRC) James Milner

We need to see the Milner that played at the Etihad and not the one we saw at Anfield on Thursday. At his lung-busting, harrying best, he’s a real asset to the side. But we haven’t seen it enough this term.

MLC) Emre Can

Rested against Bordeaux, Can should be ready to take on the likes of Jack Cork in the middle. Thankfully for us, our former youngster Jonjo Shelvey is suspended.

AMRC) Adam Lallana

Despite Christian Benteke’s European heroics, Klopp could revert to the front three that tore City apart, providing Coutinho is fit. This means Lallana will start slightly on the right of Firmino.

AMLC) Coutinho

He’s been rated as 50/50, but has been back in full training and is badly needed. Coutinho’s our best player and we need him on Sunday. Hopefully if he’s on the pitch we can wrap up a win quickly and withdraw him.

FC) Roberto Firmino

Poor at no.10 on Thursday, Firmino deserves the chance to start as a false 9 again – having been so tremendous away at City.
