Liverpool fans on Simon Mignolet’s new contract: ‘pathetic, p*ss-take, please don’t’

The overwhelming majority of Liverpool fans seem to be against the club’s imminent decision to offer Simon Mignolet a new deal.

The stopper has two and a half years left on the five-year contract he signed in 2013 when he joined, but Jurgen Klopp has pushed the idea of extending the Belgian’s deal – despite some shoddy recent form.

Reports suggest he’ll put pen to paper on the £60k-per-week contract in the next fortnight.

Many Reds took to Twitter to question why we’re extending Mignolet’s deal, when there are still doubts surrounding his suitability.

Obviously Klopp’s confidence in the goalkeeper is unwavering, which hopefully will fill Mignolet with enough confidence that his performances improve. He’s at his best when confident.
