Jordan Rossiter injured his hamstring v FC Sion

Reports are suggesting that Jordan Rossiter injured his hamstring during his short cameo against FC Sion last week.

The young Scouse midfielder hadn’t played under Jurgen Klopp until the Europa League tie because of a separate hamstring injury picked up during October with England Under-19s, but just as he was making his return, the 18-year-old’s pulled the muscle again.

The news comes at an inconvenient time for the player and club with a congested fixture list coming up in January. Rossiter would have likely got himself some game time in the FA Cup 3rd round trip to Exeter, and potentially made some Premier League benches as well.

But now it’s back to the treatment room for the teenage midfielder.

Rossiter’s been injured a number of times already during his fledgling career, and we hope it’s not a sign of things to come as he eventually becomes a more active member of the first-team squad.

Let’s hope he returns fully fit and isn’t rushed back as it appears he may have been last time.
