Coutinho says being injured was ‘awful’ but he’s now ‘feeling much better’

Our Brazilian playmaker Coutinho is fully fit now following his unfortunate hamstring pull, but has spoken of how hard it was to be out injured.

The 23-year-old hurt himself at the Etihad during our 4-0 thumping of Manchester City, but thankfully had been on the pitch long enough to see the Premier League favourites obliterated. He missed the next four matches though and only made his first start since against West Brom at the weekend.

“I’m feeling much better,” the attacker told Liverpoolfc.com at Melwood. “I’m training and I’m available for selection. It’s the best thing, because to be out injured is very difficult – it’s awful.

“Of course, we love playing football and when we’re available for selection, it’s the best thing. I’m feeling good and I hope I can help the team out in the best possible way.”

Coutinho’s presence in the side against the Baggies significantly boosted our creativity in the final third. He should have scored, but played a role in Jordan Henderson’s opening goal and had a number of shots from range.

Now he’s fully fit, he’ll be the first name on the team-sheet, and Jurgen Klopp will decide which two attackers to field alongside him in the three attacking positions.

A fit Daniel Sturridge would also walk in the side but he won’t be available for the Watford clash, meaning the boss could pick two of Jordon Ibe, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Christian Benteke or Divock Origi with Coutinho.
