Liverpool have more ‘active fans’ than Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich or Arsenal.

In fact, in world football, only Manchester United have more, claims the London School of Marketing – cited here in the Echo.

The report claims Liverpool have 580 million global fans, compared to United’s 660 million. Real Madrid come in 4th with 550 million, and remarkably, Chelsea are next at 400 million, despite being a traditionally small club – only successful due to Roman Abramovich’s bankrolling.

With 580 million fans and Jurgen Klopp, one of the world’s most famous and renowned managers in charge, it’s imperative that Liverpool get back to where we belong – in the Champions League and competing for Premier League titles.

The report also puts Liverpool in the Top 10 most valuable clubs, in 8th at £624m. Despite having the second most fans, we’re worth roughly a quarter of Real, Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City who are valued at over £2bn.

We’re not exactly sure how London School of Marketing calculated these lists, but they do confirm where Liverpool should be. Klopp can, and hopefully will bring the 550 million the glory we’ve been waiting for!
