Despite a poor run of form with humbling defeats to Newcastle and Watford coupled with a home draw to West Brom, Liverpool Brazilian playmaker has offered a positive ray of light by insisting that he remains confident of his side’s progress under Jurgen Klopp and believes silverware this season is not out of reach.

Said the Brazilian playmaker, according to the Mirror (http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-playmaker-philippe-coutinho-insists-7058858) , “Now I hope to be able to help the team win trophies, it’s very important to keep battling.”

“We’re in a very good position. It’s the goal of everyone involved, we’re all focused on fighting for the trophies and I think we have a great chance in the competitions we’re in this year.”

“We’re going to fight for that and I hope we win a trophy this year.”

Having arrived as a somewhat surprising January window signing from Inter Milan three years ago, Coutinho is set to celebrate his third anniversary at Anfield next month. Coutinho has since risen to become one of Liverpool’s most important players, but the Brazilian has remained firmly on his feet, believing that while he has indeed improved since arriving at the club, he still has room for improvement in the coming years.

Said the 23 year-old, “It’s been three wonderful years, and I’m very grateful to the club.”

“We learn little by little. When you arrive here, the football is very different, the style of play, it’s more intense, you use your body more, it’s faster.”

“These things I think I’ve improved on since I arrived, as I came from a different style of football, and I hope I can continue to improve.”

While Liverpool are set to spend Christmas out of the top four this year, they remain in touch of the top four places, with just five points separating them from fourth-placed Tottenham. The Reds now face top-of-the-table Leicester City as they look to fix their recent poor run of just one point from their last nine.
