Ex-Liverpool keeper Brad Jones finally finds new club

Australian keeper Brad Jones, who served Liverpool loyally if not very impressively, has found a new club – signing for N.E.C in Holland after being without a club for most of the season.

Their official website have confirmed the news, giving the 33-year-old a six month contract which will expire at the end of this campaign.

Jones was released by Liverpool in the summer having been signed by Roy Hodgson for a pretty expensive £2.3m (via the Telegraph) considering the stopper’s ability and how easy it is to buy backup keepers for free.

In his five years at the club, Jones made just 11 Premier League appearances for Liverpool – backing up first Pepe Reina and then Simon Mignolet from the bench.

Upon his release from Liverpool he signed for Bradford, but after making three appearances and conceding six goals – the Aussie’s contract was terminated ‘by mutual consent’ (via the Daily Mail) and he’s been out of a club since!

We wish him luck.
