Liverpool fans plan clever way to thank FSG for ticket apology

Posted by

FSG got it badly wrong with their original ticket hikes, but in fairness to our American owners – they’ve admitted their mistake and yesterday unveiled a new price structure for 2016/17, as the BBC reported.

This includes £9 tickets for every single match and a maximum ticket cost of £59 for tickets in the Main Stand. What’s more, tickets will freeze for two years and the £1000+ season ticket has been scrapped.

Part of the reason FSG changed their minds so quickly is the protest which took place against Sunderland. After 77 minutes (due to the £77 match day tickets), 10,000 fans streamed out of the ground last weekend – and it got the football world talking.

When Liverpool next play at Anfield – not until February 25th v Augsburg – many supporters are now planning on clapping after 77 minutes as  gesture of gratitude to the owners for reversing their decision.

#ClapOn77 began to trend in Liverpool on Twitter as supporters began to debate whether this was a sensible way of showing thanks to FSG.
