Liverpool to rekindle interest in exciting £23m forward when transfer window reopens

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to sign Jese Rodriguez from Real Madrid when the transfer window reopens, according to Spanish publication Okdiario.

Okdiario reports that Liverpool were willing to meet the forward’s £23m price tag last month, but Madrid were reluctant to let him leave in the middle of the campaign.

But Okdiario understands that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp remains a keen admirer of the talented Spaniard, and will look to bring him to Anfield in the summer.

Jese has 10 goals in 11 La Liga starts for Real, but has perhaps not featured as regularly as he would have liked this season, starting only seven games in all competitions.

And with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and any future marquee signings blocking his path, his first-team prospects aren’t likely to improve anytime soon.

Klopp has recently revealed his satisfaction with our five-strong strike force, but admitted that he wants to add some wingers to his squad, as the Daily Star reports.

Jese is capable of playing in a central role but is equally comfortable off the left flank, and that might be where Klopp intends to use him if he can strike a deal with Real.
