Marko Grujic: It’s easier to get girls now I’ve signed for Liverpool

Marko Grujic, who signed for Liverpool at the beginning of the January transfer window, has boldly claimed he’s getting more attention from females since we announced the deal!

The Serbian finalised a £5.1m deal from Red Star Belgrade last month, although chose to stay with his boyhood club until the summer – when he’ll head to England and join up with his new team-mates.

“I receive more offers from girls than before!” he said at an event in Belgrade, cited by the Mirror.

“There are no serious offers though… I’m still single,” he added.

We can only offer the teenager congratulations, although we hope his mind is only on on-field success when he arrives on Merseyside!

The 19-year-old will win the Serbian league this season, with Red Star 15 points clear at the top of the table, with the competition only just resuming after a long winter break.

Grujic played the full 90 during his side’s return win over Mladost Lucani, but was unable to find the back of the net as he did regularly during the off-season.

So far this term he’s notched five, and we hope to see him add to that tally before he arrives at Melwood in the summer.

Grujic is physically exceptional beyond his years and prides himself on his ability to drive through central midfield, which has led to premature comparisons to Steven Gerrard.

He has an epic amount to prove before he should really be mentioned in the same sentence as our former captain in truth, but it’s exciting that we’ve a midfielder with such talent arriving at the club.
