Liverpool fan Micky Quinn names six ‘for sale’ and three huge summer targets

Micky Quinn, former Premier League striker for Coventry and huge Liverpool fan, went on a rant after our League Cup Final defeat to Manchester City yesterday – claiming that there’ll be a clear-out of a number of senior stars come the summer.

Liverpool lost to the Sky Blues on penalties, but Quinn reckons it’ll be enough to convince Jurgen Klopp to totally revamp the playing squad ahead of next season.

“I think they’ll be a few gone at Liverpool, I think there could be a clear out,” Quinn told talkSPORT.

“Benteke’s gone. I don’t like to say it, but I’m afraid he’s gone.

“I think Mignolet will go. They need to buy a new keeper, they need a new left-back and I think Lucas will go, too. Lucas has been a great pro there, but is he going to win you the league? That’s what you’ve got to think if you’re Jurgen Klopp.

“Some of the midfield players, too. Lallana hasn’t done it this season and he cost a fortune, Joe Allen and James Milner could even go.

“I think you’ve got to look forward and you’ve got to look big.

“[Malaga defensive midfielder Ignacio] Camacho, [PSG playmaker] Lucas Moura, [Borussia Monchengladbach star] Granit Xhaka, these are all players on the hit list and if he gets them it’ll be an exciting season for Liverpool next year.”

Frankly, there is no way Liverpool will sell all of Benteke, Mignolet, Lallana, Allen and Milner in the summer.

It’s likely that Benteke will move on, with Klopp clearly not a fan – but we can see the other four remaining at the club. Mignolet’s recently signed a five-year deal, Lallana and Allen are useful squad players, while the boss rates Milner.

We wouldn’t be too disappointed if we could get our hands on the three players he claims we’re after, however…

Lucas Moura is a terrifically exciting winger, Camacho is a resilient, defensively minded anchorman whole Xhaka’s one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the Bundesliga.

Those players especially Moura and Xhaka, would walk into our starting XI.

Klopp’s already signed Joel Matip and Marko Grujic ahead of next term, but you can be sure they won’t be the last.
